Highfields’ mission statement is to provide opportunities to children, youth and families to become more responsible for their own lives and to strengthen their relationships with others.
Highfields has three branches: residential services, community services, and educational services. Our residential treatment program is located on our Onondaga Campus, and is designed to help troubled boys aged 11-17 from all over Michigan improve their emotional control, thought processes and behavior in challenging situations.
We also offer community services in 10 counties throughout satellite offices in Hillsdale, Howell, Jackson, and Lansing. We have programs designed to be a safety net for families working through tough times in the areas of behavioral health, child welfare and mental health. Each of our programs is client-centered and designed to meet the unique needs of each family. We provide evidence-based programs, proven to help families overcome obstacles. Our programs are designed to keep families happy, healthy and safe, reaching families at their earliest point of need and preventing out-of-home placement.
Our educational services are comprised of four programs which encourage students and participants to become more knowledgeable and confident in their own skills and abilities. We offer an experiential education program in Onondaga for groups to participate in team-building challenges and six after school programs. We have an alternative high school – Ingham Academy – which is a partnership between Highfields, Ingham County Circuit Court, Peckham Industries and Ingham Intermediate School District. We also provide an evening reporting program from 3 pm – 8 pm for youth involved with the court system in Ingham County.
