Hillsdale Community Health Center

Health Care in Hillsdale County is second to none. The Hillsdale Community Health Center is a hospital providing 24 hour emergency medicine, urgent care, medical/surgical services, a critical care unit, orthopedic specialists, joint replacement, a birthing center and a full range of outpatient services. This state-of-the-art medical center is home to over 100 physicians and specialists.

Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility

Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility (HCMCF) is a county owned non-profit skilled nursing facility. The 160 bed facility is governed by the Hillsdale County Social Services Board. HCMCF is an integrated rehabilitation center offering physical, occupational, speech, respiratory and IV therapies. The facility has an excellent activity program specializing in individual relationships to meet the needs of the residents. HCMCF is a Eden Alternative registered site and a five star nursing home ranked in the top 15% in Michigan.

Our community enjoys the available services of many Health Care professionals including dentists, orthodontists, optometrists, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, audiologists, and podiatrists.

Emergency Services

Reading Emergency Unit (REU) provides Hillsdale County with quality emergency services in patient care, transportation, and education. REU operates from three stations within the county (Reading, Hillsdale & Litchfield). The emergency team is comprised of nearly 40 employees including paramedics, EMT's, dispatchers and office staff. The fleet consists of eight ambulances, four echo units and a wheelchair van transport. REU also operates the Institute of Pre-hospital Medicine providing community and workplace CPR, 1st aid classes, EMS certification and licensure classes.
